Braces for Adults
Braces aren’t just for kids anymore. Tooth alignment can be changed at any age if your gums and bone structure are healthy. We offer a variety of treatments that are designed for different age groups – including adults. So a new smile can begin today.
Orthodontic treatment at later stages in life can dramatically improve your appearance and self-esteem. Improving the health of your teeth and gums is equally important. Crooked teeth and a bad bite can contribute to gum and bone loss, tooth decay, abnormal wear of the tooth enamel and surfaces, headaches, and jaw joint (TMJ/TMD) pain.
Good news! The new techniques and appliances we use greatly reduce discomfort levels, decrease the frequency of visits, shorten treatment time, and may allow you to choose from several options. Your options may include metal braces, translucent braces, or transparent aligners that can be worn at night to improve mild cases of misaligned teeth.
Types of Braces
There is a wide range of options available for adults who are thinking about getting braces. If you are concerned about the metallic appearance of your teeth, do not worry, as modern dental technology has developed solutions where you can straighten your teeth without hampering your facial appearance. Let’s see the different types of braces available today apart from the conventional ones:
- Aligners– These are clear trays that are changed every few weeks to cope with your teeth’ movements. These are removable, which puts off the restrictions on food and reduces the teeth cleaning hassles. These are great for people who want to align their teeth the invisible way. Invisalign is the most common aligner brand at present.
- Lingual Braces– These are similar to the traditional braces, but the only difference is, they are placed at the back of your teeth. It means you will be able to rectify your teeth alignment and get the same benefits as that of traditional braces, but no one will be able to notice it. These are custom-made to fit your teeth perfectly.
- Ceramic Braces– They function as conventional braces, but the difference is that their brackets are clear. These are also less noticeable because the pieces attached to the teeth are tooth-colored ceramic material.
- Damon® Braces– The Damon® System employs a unique treatment philosophy that goes beyond straight teeth to create broad beautiful smiles. We take into account each patients’ face, profile and other factors, anticipating what patients will look like in their 40’s, 50’s and beyond.
During the initial examination, we will determine the best possible treatment for your individual needs. In addition, during this initial examination, we can outline the treatment plan, time of treatment expected, and the approximate cost.
A large percentage of our patients are adults, and they agree that it’s never too late to improve their greatest asset – their smile.
